Chapter 4714 X Royal Clash (2)

Chapter 4714 X Royal Family: Fierce Battle (Twenty)

These words made everyone frown; it was practically blatant lying. Captain America pursed his lips and then said, "Tony, I know you're unwilling to admit defeat. But we really..."

The main universe's Iron Man closed his eyes and shook his head. He said, "The different lives of superheroes, the advanced technology, that strange doctor—they're all just different superficial manifestations. That's all we could see before."

Hawkeye seemed to sense something. He said, "We haven't had much dealings with them and aren't familiar with them. We can only see the surface."

"Yes. But after dealing with Iron Man from the central universe, I realized that these superficial differences are insignificant compared to our similarities."

This statement did indeed seem somewhat arrogant and conceited; after all, the difference between seemingly insignificant superficial appearances and reality is vast. However, they all believed that Iron Man wouldn't say something so contradictory, so they simply listened quietly.

“What we have in common is that we changed each other with love, and then together we transformed the entire world,” the main universe Iron Man said, looking at them. “In this respect, the Avengers in almost every universe are the same. The central universe is no exception.”

"Then why do they act so differently? Is it because they have more love?" Black Widow felt that this argument was not very convincing.

“Because they changed Schiller, and Schiller changed them,” the main universe Iron Man said. “Schiller is indeed a key factor; his difference makes the central universe different. But what matters is not how he is different from all of us, but what matters is what he has in common with all of us—that he can be changed by the love of his friends.”

Everyone paused for a moment, stunned. The main universe's Iron Man continued, "If a super genius, whose name is whatever, appears in a universe, what will determine how he transforms that universe?"

"Perhaps it does depend on how powerful he is. The more powerful he is, the more thoroughly he can transform the universe, and the better the universe will develop. But ultimately, it depends on how he chooses to use his talent. Can't the power to shape the universe also be used to destroy it?"

"Schiller is the same. The way his abilities manifest themselves and how powerful they are are not the fundamental reason why the central universe is the way it is today. The fundamental reason is that he has a group of friends who changed him and made him want to make the universe better. Otherwise, how do you know that the central universe won't completely spiral out of control like some universes on the verge of collapse?"

“I understand,” Captain America said in a deep voice. “At any stage of life, people can be educated and changed. It’s just that when we are young, we are influenced by our family and teachers, and when we grow up, it is our friends. Whether a person uses his talents for good or evil depends on what kind of influence he has been exposed to.”

“Rather than that, the fact that he is influenced by his friends is one of the things he has in common with us,” Black Widow began. “Because we are too. The Avengers team has changed us a lot, and the bond between us has deepened our influence on each other, which ultimately made us a team of superheroes, not some supervillain gang. People who can be changed by love are more likely to walk the path of righteousness.”

“What a respectable lady of literature,” Hawkeye couldn’t help but exclaim. “That line should have appeared at the end of War and Peace or Crime and Punishment.”

Everyone else thought so too. Black Widow simply smiled faintly, put her hand on the back of the sofa chair, stood up, and said, "Thank you for still being willing to listen to your grandmother."

Hawkeye pressed his thumb to his lower lip, thinking, and said, "You mean, our previous wariness of them was unnecessary, and they weren't actually that dangerous?"

“Of course not.” The main universe’s Iron Man changed the subject. “Schiller and the entire central universe are dangerous. But because they, like us, are influenced and changed by their friends, we shouldn’t treat them with resistance and suppression.”

“Wait a minute,” the Spider-Man from the main universe suddenly spoke up, “So, you’re only just realizing they’re human too?”

“This is difficult, Peter,” Dr. Banner said with a hint of sarcasm. “It’s a major breakthrough. Because when interventionists encounter new people or new things, they usually see them as weapons and beasts. They either create a deterrent with equivalent weapons or shoot or drive them away. It’s very difficult to make them realize that their opponent is a human being with feelings and ideals just like them.”

“Sounds a bit like…” The main universe Spider-Man said nothing, only glancing at Captain America’s Stars and Stripes uniform. Captain America gave him a slightly threatening look, but didn’t utter a word in rebuttal. Spider-Man understood that the threat was merely a reminder not to confuse him with the US government.

But the threat of low pressure had no effect on Black Widow. She let out a cold laugh, and Captain America immediately turned to look at her, asking, "What are you laughing at?"

His implication was clearly, "What makes you think you're any better?" But the Black Widow was not to be outdone. She sat down on the other side, crossed her legs, rested her elbows on the armrests, and pointed her finger at her head, saying, "The demise of the Soviet Union began when they stopped seeing other countries as comrades and instead saw them as weapons and votes."

Since she had said that, Captain America had nothing to say. The Soviet Union had already paid the price for its actions, while this paragon of virtue was still alive and well, not only as shameless as ever, but even more so. This made it impossible for him to speak of it as frankly as Black Widow.

"Let's get down to business." Thor wasn't particularly interested in human politics, so he hadn't spoken until now. He steered the conversation back on track and asked, "How's it going with your request for help from the central universe?"

The main universe's Iron Man shook his head and said, "No need to call for help."

"Do you have another idea?"

He shook his head again and replied, "I'm confident that this invasion is inextricably linked to Schiller. The people in the central universe will never allow Schiller's actions to truly destroy the Earth. Even if we don't ask for help, they will handle the trouble themselves."

"I'm serious," Dr. Banner said, finally losing his temper. "Is Earth a condom for a bunch of lunatics like you?"

"Oh God!"

"Don't talk about that!"

"And there are children too!"

"Bruce!"

Everyone turned their heads away, trying to pretend they hadn't heard anything, but aside from Hulk, Dr. Banner wasn't exactly known for his good temper. He said, "I've never agreed with Doctor Strange as much as I do today. No matter how many more rounds you lunatics want to go on, I'm just taking responsibility and going now."

After saying that, he left. However, he was also the least injured among them; his main body was completely unharmed, and Hulk was basically fine as well, so no one stopped him.

Spider-Man scratched his head and said, "I need to go and check this out with Iron Man in the central universe myself. After all, Earth's defenses shouldn't be as secure as security measures."

Before anyone could throw anything at him, he vanished in a flash. The people in the room all sighed.

"What are we now?" Thor put his hammer on the coffee table, spread his hands, and said, "We've become abnormal and irresponsible cowards?"

No one dared to respond to him. Because Thor had been hit in the chest by the main cannon earlier, and the wound still reeked of blood.

“Being responsible for Earth’s safety isn’t my immediate concern,” the main universe Iron Man said. “I need to find Stephen. If we wait until tomorrow, we’ll be completely broken up.”

Captain America waved him away. Although the two often colluded and worked together to influence team decisions with their interventionist beliefs, a complete break was unacceptable.

Captain America knows Doctor Strange well. If someone offends or angers him, he'll try to remain calm as much as possible, maintaining his composure, but he might also hold a grudge. So it's best to make amends quickly; otherwise, things might really fall apart.

Thor, due to his serious injuries, went back to rest. Hawkeye went to replenish his equipment. Only the two elderly people, Captain America and Black Widow, remained. Captain America went to get two sandwiches.

“Stephen is really angry this time,” Black Widow said. “I’ve never heard him say anything so harsh to Tony.”

“He never did that to us either.” Captain America handed her a sandwich, took a bite, chewed, and said, “Tony really pissed him off. But he deserved it. Stephen’s hands have always been a taboo for him…”

“I thought he had come to terms with it,” Black Widow paused before continuing, “but then again, it’s not that easy to let go.”

“Thankfully the surgery was successful,” Captain America said. “I think this might give him some confidence, and if Tony can coax him back, maybe he really can become a surgeon again.”

“That’s it,” Black Widow said with a smile. “We’ll have to go back to the mire of New York’s high society and social scene to fish him out.”

Captain America also puffed out his cheeks and laughed.

Doctor Strange stood atop the domed structure of the Royal Palace on the planet Mighty Feather. The wind made his cloak flutter. He was staring blankly at his hands, so he didn't notice Schiller until he stood behind him.

He turned his head and instinctively pulled out the Eye of Agamotto. Seeing it was Schiller, he sighed and said with a hint of helplessness, "Why did you have to dress up as Mephisto?"

"Of course, it's because you have some misunderstandings about Schiller."

"It seems this wasn't a misunderstanding," Doctor Strange scoffed. "Who would have thought you would lead the armies of three great empires to invade the solar system?"

“You are an accomplice too,” Schiller reminded him. “You just killed the emperor of the Shia Empire.”

Doctor Strange looked away into the distance and said, "I must have been out of my mind to agree to help you."

“I usually call it fate,” Schiller said. “Of course, I’m not talking about you and me, but about me and Stephen Strange from our universe. People like us are always drawn to each other, and we’re not very rational when we’re together.”

Do you think Tony would recognize that it wasn't me?

“Of course,” Schiller said. “You two are so different. You must be blind not to recognize each other.”

"What's the relationship like between them in your universe?"

“It’s not as good as the two of you,” Schiller said, shaking his head. “You’re arguing and comparing technology versus magic every day.”

"How could that be?" Doctor Strange asked, puzzled. "How could these external things affect the relationship between the two of them?"

"So, does that mean I'm supposed to fix their medical records or fix light bulbs, which would affect their relationship?" Schiller rolled his eyes.

Schiller paused for a moment, then continued, "If I had to say, it's probably because they were both so successful that they couldn't stand each other's tempers."
